Caroling Woodland Animals by Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! I am so excited to be back on the Gerda Steiner Designs blog today to share a fun shaker Christmas card featuring the adorable Caroling Woodland Animals set. I love the sweet images in this set. But I must confess, that little singing mouse just stole my heart. I predict that I’ll be coming back to this set time and time again to play with that super cute little guy.

First, I stamped the images onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored the images with Copic markers and accented with a white gel pen. I fussy cut each of the images.

COPIC COLORS:

Fox: YR20/21/24/27 E99, R00/20

Mouse: W00/0/1/3, R00/20, R22

Squirrel: E53/33/99/35, R00/20, R22

Badger: W00/0/1, R00/20

Tree: YG03/25/17/67, Y13/15, E25/27

Red: R24/27/29

Green: YG03/25/17

White: C1

To create the shaker, I took the second and fourth largest dies from the Mama Elephant B2B Arches Creative Cuts dies and taped them together. Then I used the attached dies to diecut one frame out of white cardstock and two frames out come craft foam. (NOTE: If you don’t have any craft foam handy, the two craft foam frames can be substituted with 5 white cardstock frames or foam tape). Then, I detached the two dies and just used the larger one to diecut an arch panel out of light blue cardstock and one out of clear acetate.

I adhered the two craft foam frames to each other and then to the front of the blue arch panel to create a shaker well. I added some shaker bits to the well. Today, I opted to use some tiny foam balls (that I found in the Christmas section of my local craft shop) to represent the snow. I adhered the clear acetate to the top of the shaker well and the white cardstock frame to the top of the acetate layer.

Once again, I used the largest arch die and a slope die from my stash to diecut a snowbank that is approximately 1.5 inches tall. I stamped one of the sentiments and some music notes from the set directly onto the snow bank with VersaFine Onyx black ink. I adhered the snow bank to the bottom part of the shaker.

Finally, I adhered all of the colored images onto the front of the shaker with a combo of liquid adhesive and foam tape.

As always, I appreciate you taking the time to stop by and visit today. I hope you liked my shaker card.  I had so much fun coloring up this adorable Caroling Woodland Animals Clear Stamp set and truly appreciated this amazing opportunity to Guest Design again for GSD. Be sure to check out the GSD shop for this as well as all of the other amazing stamp sets! Please also visit my INSTAGRAM feed for more inspirations.

Have a wonderful and crafty day!
